A trip down a 1990s memory lane

I had an excellent visit to Gallery Sugata in Kyoto for a look at some classic posters and photos from the 1980s and 90s.

It triggered quite the wave of nostalgia. Not least because I was looking at some of the images that inspired me to get serious about photography. A bit of my early work was heading along similar themes, until I ran out of talent.

It’s given me a hankering to get back behind the lens and find my eye again. Something I’ve neglected in recent years.

Not sure I want to head back into the glamour world. My work got rejected for being a bit too artsy, and I didn’t enjoy shooting it that much.

Maybe portraiture though?

Who knows. Before I start working with models, I’ll first need to improve my Japanese!
