Why I can’t use LinkedIn on my MacBook (Updated)

Screenshot of LinkedIn website in Chrome Console showing how a Javascript bug failed to show the page content

For months I’ve not been able to access LinkedIn from my MacBook. It works fine on my iPad, just not on Safari.

I am not alone.

When I took a look at the code, this is what I found. Nothing.

I’ve seen this a few times on websites that rely too much on Javascript to generate what should be straightforward HTML and CSS.

Degrade Gracefully is a mantra hammered into my when I started web design back in the mid-1990s. It seems it needs to be revived.

Edit: Since posting this, the ability to access LinkedIn from my MacBook has returned.
