Site update 1.0.6: RIP Tako and some minor tweaks
After feedback about how distracting my unique take on the Hamburger menu was, I’m afraid Tako is no more. The little blinking octopus that served as a route into the “more menu” has been retired and replaced the traditional “3 dots”.
I have been asked why I put it at the bottom of the page, and the answer is mobile users. It’s a lot easier to reach if you’re using your phone one handed on a train.
Couple of other tweaks include:
- a return of the “asides” – posts better suited to sitting in the blog stream than their own pages;
- added a changing background to index cards; and
- tweaks to the social icons.
